Getting to Grips with two Casino Classics

When you join an online casino site, it’s easy to feel a little overwhelmed by the number of games on offer.

Thoughts of whether you should try a casino classic or something completely new, may start to fill your head. Perhaps there are also some casino promotions and offers to consider, and determine the game to play next.

So, what do you choose?

With what seems like an endless number of options, we’re here to help you find a game that’s just right for you by introducing you to some games that are considered by many as casino classics – Blackjack and Roulette…

Blackjack

A card game that is said to have originated in the 1700s, Blackjack is played with one or more 52-card decks, where the objective is to have a higher valued hand than the dealer, without exceeding 21.

To reach 21, it doesn’t matter what suit your cards are, all that matters is the value; cards two to ten are face value, and. Face cards; Jack, Queen and King, hold the value of ten.

The four aces each hold two values – one and eleven, allowing you to decide which value you need in order to secure a better hand and claim the winning title against the dealer.

A game of Blackjack begins with the dealer dealing two cards to you, and two to themselves. They’ll only turn one of their cards over, leaving the second to be revealed once you’ve decided to stick with the hand you have.

You’ll then turn both cards over.

If you find you need another card to edge you closer to 21, you can ask to be ‘hit’, and dealt more. If you’re happy with your total, you’ll tell the dealer you’d like to ‘stick’ with your hand.

If, however, you turn your first two cards over and reveal a total worth over 21, or you deal in a third card that leads you to exceed a total of 21, you’ll lose the game.

As mentioned before, the aim is to hold a higher valued hand than the dealer, without going over 21. You don’t have to hold 21 to win, just a higher value than the dealer.

Roulette

A game you’ve no doubt seen or heard of before is also available to play on online casino sites – Roulette.

Roulette is comprised of a wheel, a corresponding table and a small ball, and the aim of the game is to predict the outcome before the wheel is spun.

To play the game, the dealer will firstly open up the betting window to all players around the table. It’s within this time that all players wishing to participate place their bets on the betting table.

The dealer will then close the betting window. With betting closed, the wheel will be spun and the small ball entered into play.

Each pocket contains a number and a colour of either red or black. When the wheel comes to a complete halt and the ball has settled into a pocket, the dealer will announce the winning segment.

From this, any players that guessed correctly will be awarded their winnings, those who were incorrect will see the dealer rake the chips off the table and clear it for another game to begin.
